Week 1 Day 7
Short post today!
Since it was Sunday, we didn’t have class and there were no excursions planned, it was a pretty relaxed day. My host mom is a Protestant Christian, so she went to church in the morning and I slept in. I decided that since it had been a long week, I hadn’t gotten too much sleep the night before, and I was really tired I wouldn’t go to church with her, but I might go next week or at some point before the end of the program.
I slept in until about 9:30, and headed to the kitchen, where my host mom had left a big breakfast on the table for me. There were some cucumbers, some bread with butter, a sausage (looks like a hot dog, but actually really good), a cake of some sort made with berries, and the last of the zucchini блинчики.
After that I mostly focused on doing my homework for class and getting some summer reading done, as well as updating myself on U.S. news (ugh).
Bepa got back from church at about 1:30, and then I had some soup for lunch. Then, we went to buy some water and to the market a few streets away from the apartment, but we didn’t buy anything there.
When we got back I did some more reading, had dinner, and then showered early so I could try to get to bed at a reasonable time.
It was a pretty relaxed day and I’m so excited to go to the Embassy tomorrow after class!
